Emre Belözoğlu makes striking Fatih Terim statement in Seçil Erzan case!

Emre Belözoğlu has broken his silence on the fraud case in which former Denizbank branch manager Seçil Erzan collected money from football players and business people under the name of the 'Fatih Terim Fund' with promises of high returns.

Belözoğlu, who lost 4 million 292 thousand dollars to Erzan, made striking statements regarding the fraud case that has captivated Turkey in an interview with Seyhan Avşar of Halk TV.

"I UNCOVERED THE INCIDENT"

Stating that he met with Seçil Erzan only once and became suspicious of the situation, Belözoğlu claimed that he was the one who brought the incident to light.

Responding to the question, "While we are on the subject of being defrauded, do you really think Fatih Terim had no role in Seçil Erzan's scheme?" Belözoğlu said the following:

"I do not believe Fatih Terim would knowingly be involved in this. I think Fatih Terim entered into this thinking it was a fund, just like I did. Other than that, if I or anyone else has a situation that is contrary to the rules, let us answer for it in court. I met with this woman once. The woman gave me a second signature.

I went to the same bank and asked, 'Is this signature authentic?' Now everyone is saying, 'I was the one who blew the lid off the Seçil Erzan file.' I was the one who blew the lid off it. I went to the bank. I was the one who called the police and the inspectors. I was the one who uncovered the incident."

HALİL UMUT MELER'S ALLEGATIONS

Halil Umut Meler, who was punched by former Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca, held the capital team's manager Emre Belözoğlu responsible for the events in a statement he made.

"I APOLOGIZED EXACTLY 4 TIMES"

Regarding Meler's allegation, Belözoğlu said the following;

“It is not right to portray an event that did not happen as if it did. If you watch the footage, you will understand. I apologized exactly 4 times. I apologized on the pitch and in the corridor. I was very saddened by what happened. We are human too. Everyone has a family. I stated that I apologized very much on my own behalf and on behalf of the team. Later, they told me, 'He fell to the ground and kicked him.' Since I did not witness it, I shouted at two or three people, saying, 'Are you ashamed of yourselves, are you kicking a man who has fallen to the ground, are you men?'”

EMRE BELÖZOĞLU'S STATEMENT ON FARUK KOCA

Speaking about former president Faruk Koca, Belözoğlu responded to the question, “Is Faruk Koca a bad enough person to beat up a referee?” as follows;

“No, he is not, I swear he is not… The president has diabetes. It was a mistake he made. He himself admits this mistake. He did it in a moment of anger. We can never say that this was right.”
