MKE Ankaragücü manager Emre Belözoğlu made statements to the press at the Beştepe Facilities ahead of the match against Bitexen Antalyaspor in the 12th week of the Trendyol Super Lig.
Belözoğlu, who has been suspended since the beginning of the season after receiving one yellow card at Başakşehir and three at Ankaragücü, stated the following:
"I have been part of the football community since I was very young. I have always been someone who has experienced the difficulties of being in this community from a very early age. I am not complaining. Every blessing has its own burden. I had previously expressed my discomfort regarding assistant referees and fourth officials being stationed specifically next to my bench. Unfortunately, there is prejudice or instruction here. This is a process that should be managed by me, but when viewed from the other side, I think there is a planned prejudice. I am uncomfortable with this. I am trying to use fair sentences as much as I can. However, I do not want to see the fourth official constantly standing next to my bench."
"It is also difficult to play against Ankaragücü"
Emphasizing that they were superior in terms of play during the 3-3 away draw against RAMS Başakşehir, Emre Belözoğlu said, "On Friday, we will face one of the most dynamic organizations in the league. Hopefully, we want to enter the international break happily. I think we have the power to do this. As I said before, every match in the league is difficult, winning is difficult, but it is also difficult to play against Ankaragücü. That is why we script every match separately and explain it to our friends as much as we can. For this match in particular, we need our fans very much. The greatest strength of Ankaragücü on its home turf is its fans. I can say this clearly as someone who has played football against this great community many times."
Emre Belözoğlu also reported that defender Kitsiou has started training with the team but is not ready to play in the Antalyaspor match.
Expressing that he has become very accustomed to Ankara, Belözoğlu concluded his words as follows:
"Since the day we arrived in Ankara, everyone has done everything to help us settle in. In a very short time, I felt like someone who belongs here, the freshest and newest member of this great community. Whether it is our facility staff, our senior executives, or everyone under the leadership of our esteemed President, they have made us feel this very clearly. It makes me happy to feel the power of Ankaragücü in Ankara when we go out on the street. I was an athlete who fed off of this. I am the same kind of manager. I loved Ankara very much. It has a city concept like European cities. There is a truly clean city here; you feel the atmosphere brought by that bureaucracy, but at the same time, you can see the humility of the Anatolian people on the street."
