Erdem Can: 'An important victory for us'

Anadolu Efes Head Coach Erdem Can stated that they achieved an important victory in the THY EuroLeague match where they defeated Greece's Panathinaikos 71-68.

Speaking at the press conference held after the match, Erdem Can noted that they fought very well, saying, "The guys fought tremendously. We knew the importance and difficulty of the match. Strong characters react well in difficult times. We showed that character. It is an important victory for us. However, in the end, we just won one game."

Explaining that they could not utilize some of their players due to injuries, Can said, "We have too many injuries. Today, Erkan Yılmaz also broke his shoulder. Unfortunately, he will not be with us for at least 3 months. We want to continue by putting up the best fight possible in the process ahead."

Speaking highly of Panathinaikos head coach Ergin Ataman, Erdem Can expressed his views by saying, "Ergin Ataman is one of Turkey's most valuable coaches. He is currently by far the most successful Turkish coach in basketball. In the end, we played against an opponent and won an important match."
