As part of an investigation into betting in professional leagues, 1,024 football players identified as having placed bets have been referred to the PFDK.

Eren Elmalı, who was among these players, has been removed from the A National Team squad.
The following statement was issued:
Following the referral of 1,024 football players to the PFDK by the TFF Legal Consultancy as of today, with precautionary measures in accordance with Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions, as part of the betting investigation conducted by the Turkish Football Federation regarding professional leagues, changes have been made to the candidate squads of our A, U21, and U19 National Teams.
Accordingly, Eren Elmalı from the A National Team, İzzet Çelik from the U21 National Team, and Ege Albayrak from the U19 National Team have been removed from the candidate squads of our respective teams.
