There is reportedly interest from Spain in Felix Uduokhai, one of the players expected to leave Beşiktaş as part of the club's new season squad planning. It is claimed that La Liga side Espanyol has inquired about the German center-back, whom the black-and-white club's football director, Önder Özen, previously announced was not in their plans.

Speaking to La Grada Radio, journalist Alejandro Parra stated that Espanyol is investigating the situation of Uduokhai, who currently plays for Beşiktaş. The report noted that Espanyol Sporting Director Monchi is looking for a left-footed center-back and that the 28-year-old defender's profile is seen as a suitable fit for this need.

However, it was emphasized that the transfer process has not yet reached an advanced stage. While Uduokhai is one of the names being monitored by Espanyol, it was stated that there is no completed move or any deal nearing finalization.

In a statement made in recent weeks, Önder Özen said they had spoken with the player to convey their decision. Özen stated, "I spoke with Felix Uduokhai and told him that we would not be continuing with him in the squad. He gave a very dignified response. He and his agent are continuing to look for a club. He had a snag with Schalke, which is why they couldn't reach an agreement. But there is interest from the Bundesliga. I believe he will leave us after a while."

According to assessments in the Spanish press, while Beşiktaş might be open to a loan deal with a purchase option, it was reported that Uduokhai's net annual salary of 1.5 million Euros is one of the most significant hurdles to a potential transfer.
