Yusuf Demir, who left Galatasaray in February 2026 to transfer to his former club Rapid Wİen on a free transfer, made notable statements regarding his time with the yellow-red team.

Speaking on the “SK Rapid Podcast,” the young footballer described what he went through, especially during his injury period. Demir stated that he returned to Istanbul in September 2022 with an ankle injury from the Austria U21 national team camp.

Noting that his ankle was severely swollen, Yusuf Demir stated that he was not in a condition to train before the Süper Lig match against Adana Demirspor and could not even put on his football boots.

Demir said the following:

"The process at Galatasaray was quite difficult for me. After my injury, I was in a state where I couldn't even put a shoe on my ankle. Despite this, it was suggested that I be given an injection and travel with the team. Of course, I refused this because I didn't know what was in that injection. I experienced serious problems with the medical processes, and what happened really shocked me."

Touching upon the magnitude of Galatasaray, Demir drew attention to the club's fan power while also speaking about some events he alleged took place inside:

"Galatasaray has more than 40 million fans worldwide, but very few people want to see some of the things that happen inside the club."
