While footage of the rare reaction on the pitch spread rapidly on social media, Tavas Birlikspor also issued a statement on its social media account. The statement from the club read, "Tavas Birlikspor began the 2024-2025 football season with nearly 200 of our youth and 6 youth squads. With our A-team, we have secured our place in the Super Amateur League Group B as we targeted this season. The malicious refereeing errors made against us throughout the season have finally exhausted our patience. The refereeing errors in the match we played on Sunday against Çalıköyspor, which drew everyone's reaction and overshadowed the game with his decisions, were the final straw. By showing a red card in response to the red card the referee showed him, our official Bekir Karayürek, who was on duty on the bench, was actually protesting the unfair and malicious decisions made throughout the entire season.
