Eyüpspor one step closer to the Süper Lig!

In the 27th week of the 1. Lig, league leaders Eyüpspor defeated Bandırmaspor 3-2 despite being reduced to 10 men, moving one step closer to promotion to the Süper Lig.

1. Lig matchday 27 saw Bandırmaspor face off against Eyüpspor. Eyüpspor won the match 3-2 after scoring two goals in stoppage time, despite playing with 10 men. 

Eyüpspor took the lead in the 17th minute through Thuram. Bandırmaspor equalized in the second half in the 54th minute with a goal from Doğancan Tavas, and then took a 2-1 lead in the 72nd minute following an own goal by Eyüpspor's Melih Kabasakal

Eyüpspor's Samu Saiz was shown a straight red card in the 88th minute. 

During stoppage time, an own goal by Bandırmaspor's Mexer brought the match back to level terms. Eyüpspor had the final say in the match. Gianni Bruno stepped up in the 90+6th minute to put his 10-man team ahead and secure the 3 points. 

COUNTDOWN TO THE SÜPER LİG

With this result, Eyüpspor increased their points tally to 64, maintaining a significant advantage in their quest for promotion to the Süper Lig. With 7 weeks remaining, Eyüpspor, which will have at least a 17-point lead over the 3rd-place team, has all but guaranteed their promotion to the Süper Lig.

Bandırmaspor remained on 41 points. 

In the next match of the league, Eyüpspor will travel to face Adanaspor. Bandırmaspor will be the guests of Altay.
