A father and son's love for Şanlıurfaspor: 'Only death can separate me'

Ahmet Kaysı, who has achondroplasia, commonly known as dwarfism, was captivated by the atmosphere at the stadium 30 years ago when he went out of curiosity to see the visiting football players who had come to the city for an away match. Over time, Ahmet became one of the team's most fanatic supporters and soon began leading the stands.

Kaysı, who boosts the enthusiasm of the fans during matches and became known as "Amigo Ahmet" over time, also instilled a love for the stands in his 13-year-old son, İmam Baki, who also has achondroplasia. The father and son, who keep the fans energized for 90 minutes in the stands at every match, have a great love for Şanlıurfaspor.

"ONLY DEATH CAN SEPARATE ME FROM ŞANLIURFASPOR"

Ahmet Kaysı said that when he was 13 years old and working as a shoe shiner, he saw the Vanspor players touring the city and decided to go to the match being played the next day.

Stating that he went to his first match with someone else, Kaysı said, "Back then, it felt like a dream. I was 13, now I am 43. That is where the love and passion for Şanlıurfaspor began. It still continues. I have devoted myself to this passion for 30 years, I have hit the road for it. Only death can separate me from Şanlıurfaspor. I don't miss away matches either. Sometimes I even go to away matches with my family," he said.

"I WILL ENTRUST MY SON TO HIS OLDER BROTHERS"

Explaining that being a cheerleader is a pleasure for him, Kaysı expressed that they get even more excited when the fans show their love.

Amigo Ahmet stated that he is raising his son just like himself, and added:

"I will gradually hand my son over to the field, to his older brothers. I have aged, I have reached 43. I did this for 30 years. You see a young wolf cub on the fields. I raised him, and the fans love him too. I will entrust my son to his older brothers. This comes from within, from the heart. You cannot buy this with money. We are a Şanlıurfaspor family."

"HE IMITATES HIS FATHER"

İmam Baki Kaysı also explained that he met the Şanlıurfaspor fans 8 years ago through his father.

Stating that they energize the fans when he goes to matches with his father, İmam Baki said, "My father raised me with the fans. When I was 6, he would have me lead the chants. I was imitating the movements my father made. I love the fans, and the fans love me very much. My father taught me the love and passion for Şanlıurfaspor," he said.
