Striking commentary from Fatih Altaylı on the possibility of 'withdrawing from the league': The 110-year-old Fenerbahçe is no one's toy
Evaluating Fenerbahçe's announcement regarding a potential withdrawal from the league, journalist Fatih Altaylı commented, "They could withdraw from the league. However, this would create very serious problems. By withdrawing the team, which is the company's only asset, it would lose all its revenue. In a sense, this would mean the company committing suicide."

Following the Trabzonspor match, where its players and technical staff were assaulted, Fenerbahçe announced yesterday that it has decided to hold an extraordinary general assembly meeting to vote on the football team's withdrawal from the Süper Lig.
Speaking about the possibility of withdrawing from the league, Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç stated, "If necessary, we will drop to a lower league. Everyone should come to their senses. We would rather die once than die every day. If necessary, we will play for 1 year and come back up."
As all eyes turn to the extraordinary general assembly that Fenerbahçe will hold on April 2, journalist Fatih Altaylı penned an article titled 'Is it possible to withdraw from the league!'.
"THE 110-YEAR-OLD FENERBAHÇE IS NO ONE'S TOY"
In his article, Altaylı stated, "The executives of Fenerbahçe A.Ş. can withdraw the football team from the league it is currently playing in. However, this would create very serious problems. By withdrawing the team, which is the company's only asset, it would lose all its revenue. In a sense, this would mean the company committing suicide."
Emphasizing that this decision carries heavy responsibility, Altaylı commented, "The 110-year-old Fenerbahçe is no one's toy."
Here is Altaylı's article;
"The owner of the Fenerbahçe football team is a company called Fenerbahçe A.Ş. Some of this company's shares belong to the Fenerbahçe Sports Club Association, and some are publicly traded. In other words, it is listed on the stock exchange. It is subject to the supervision of the Capital Markets Board (SPK). The association is the sole decision-maker in the company's management, both because it holds the majority of shares and due to the company's articles of association.
In other words, the association's management or general assembly can convene and decide to withdraw the football team from the Süper Lig. As representatives of the association, the executives of Fenerbahçe A.Ş. can withdraw the football team from the league it is currently playing in. However, this would create very serious problems. By withdrawing the team, which is the company's only asset, it would lose all its revenue. In a sense, this would mean the company committing suicide.
The SPK would immediately suspend the company's trading board. It would halt its transactions. It would demand an explanation from the company regarding this. Meanwhile, it would also begin an investigation into all transactions made. It would start investigating who bought shares, who sold shares, and who engaged in manipulation in the time between this announcement and the suspension of the board. As you can see, it is not an easy task. It carries heavy responsibility. The 110-year-old Fenerbahçe is no one's toy."
