The Fatih Tekke crisis at Trabzonspor, which emerged following the 4-0 defeat against Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League play-off round, was resolved in a short time. Tekke's decision to resign, which he announced after the match by stating he took responsibility, was not accepted by the club's management.
The manager of the burgundy-blue team had stated that he was leaving the position he had held for 18 months after facing another heavy scoreline in the second leg following the first match. However, it was reported that after evaluations made during the night and contacts with the management, Tekke would remain in charge of the team.
FULL SUPPORT FROM MANAGEMENT
It was stated that Club President Ertuğrul Doğan held a private meeting with Fatih Tekke and conveyed that the trust in the technical staff remains. While it was assessed that Tekke made an emotional decision in the heat of the match, it was reported that the management did not accept this decision and supported the manager.
One of the names who supported Tekke was Hamit Altıntop. In a message he shared, Altıntop said, "Brother Fatih Tekke, what is going on? Why would you resign? What do you have besides God and Trabzon? You have been putting in effort for 18 months, you are building something. It does not suit you to quit right when patience, stability, and continuity should be discussed, brother. Trabzon needs you, and you need Trabzon. We love you, brother."
Fatih Tekke returned to Trabzon with the team, as Trabzonspor bids farewell to the Europa League and will continue its journey in the Conference League. It was noted that after receiving support from the management, Tekke was at the head of the team for the preparations for the Amed match.
In the burgundy-blue team, new signing Mohamed Salah also spoke about the process, stating that there have always been difficult periods in his career and that he has learned to turn disappointments into motivation. Emphasizing that he is part of the Trabzonspor project, Salah stated that the phrase "I came here to win" was not just a slogan for him.
