Trabzonspor manager Fatih Tekke made statements at the press conference held after the Ziraat Turkish Cup final, which was lost 3-0 to Galatasaray. Stating that they are very sad about losing the final and the cup, Fatih Tekke apologized for the team's performance.

Speaking after the match, Fatih Tekke said, "I congratulate the Galatasaray team. I am also very sad for upsetting our fans. I am experiencing the same emotion they are feeling. The match was effectively over in the opening minutes of both halves. A small mistake cost us dearly. We started the second half with Okay after Batogov was injured. Then, the gap increased to two with the second goal we conceded in the first minute. We tried to recover afterwards, but it didn't happen. The positions won in long balls and second balls, and the result is a defeat in both matches. We needed to be at a high level in terms of performance, but it didn't happen. It was a match that would have compensated for the entire season. We are spending serious energy and effort for the next season. This season ended like this. From now on, I will give chances to younger players. We will work to build next year's team. I am very sad, I apologize to the fans and my family. We should have pushed a bit harder. We need to be a much more dynamic team next year," he said.

"NOT HAVING A EUROPEAN TARGET WILL AFFECT MY PLANS"

Speaking about the European target, Fatih Tekke said, "Not having a European target will affect my plans. It will especially affect transfer situations. We were scouting important players, and this situation is a disadvantage for us. Our goal is clearly to sign good players. We need to sign players who can be good in every sense or who are good in their field. As a community, we did not have a happy season. Trabzonspor needs to be a team that competes again. We need to build a squad that will not be questioned. We have been working on this for a month. But there are certain conditions for this. Sometimes the player doesn't want to come, sometimes there are financial difficulties, sometimes there are agent problems. There must be optional positions and every player must be good. We have to build a very good team with football players who will be accepted by everyone. If we want to be successful next year, this is a condition," he stated.

"THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE GOAL POSITION"

Answering a question about not attending the ceremony, Tekke said, "I started playing football in 1994. We are currently in 2025. I don't have any negative situation. I don't even know most of the referees. But if they don't go to VAR for the goal position in the second half, there is a problem. I'm tired of this too. People are waiting for me to say something. I've had enough of it too. Our squad and strength are clear. We continue to fight. When we fight more, anyone can do whatever they want," he said.

Answering a question about the team's play and how Batagov's injury affected the team's game, Fatih Tekke said, "When talking about the score, our opponent could have increased the gap, especially after 2-0. The thought of 'let's find a goal as soon as possible' created panic in our players. I thought about playing one-on-one with different formations in both matches. But we didn't get that performance from some players. I can't blame my players either. My decision to play one-on-one can be debated. Playing one-on-one was risky. I took that risk. Batogov was the best-performing player in these two matches against Osimhen. We needed to play a bit higher today," he said.
