Fatih Tekke: We have brought another trophy to our community

Trabzonspor and Konyaspor faced off in the Ziraat Turkish Cup final in Antalya. The burgundy-blue team won the match played at Corendon Airlines Park Antalya Stadium 2-1, claiming the trophy.

The burgundy-blues last took the Ziraat Turkish Cup to their trophy cabinet in the 2019-2020 season by defeating Corendon Alanyaspor 2-0 in the final. Trabzonspor repeated the same success in the cup after a 5-season hiatus by defeating Konyaspor in the final played in Antalya.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Trabzonspor Head Coach Fatih Tekke congratulated Konyaspor and stated that the game became balanced, especially in the second half. Tekke said, "I congratulate Konyaspor. If they had succeeded, especially with the penalty in the second half, the cup might have been closer to them. We were better in the first half, and it was our turn in the second half. Thank God we made our fans happy, we have brought another trophy to our community. I thank all my players for their efforts and their hearts. We came here from difficult conditions. I would have been very sad if it had been otherwise. Praise be to God, we sent the fans who came here home happy."

While Fatih Tekke was making his statement, Trabzonspor players arrived at the room where the press conference was being held, wearing their medals. The burgundy-blue players, who entered the meeting room with water in their hands, celebrated their head coach by chanting "Fatih Tekke." The enthusiastic celebration of the players created colorful scenes, and the joy of the cup was shared during the press conference.
