Fatih Terim, who continues his career at Saudi Arabian League side Al-Shabab, made statements to TRT Spor.

Fatih Terim stated that he wants Galatasaray to become the champion in the Süper Lig and said that he misses the Yellow-Red club.

The experienced coach emphasized that Turkish football should stay away from unproductive debates and said the following:

"My 50th year at Galatasaray has been completed. It is easy to say, but it is half a century! Even when I am not physically involved, my life is dedicated to a single club! My bond with Galatasaray is very strong. However, I say this independently of that: the championship and the 5th star are Galatasaray's right!

Galatasaray has the equipment and quality as a community not to take a step back from this. My desire and my heart are with Galatasaray's championship. For this, we need to be together. Galatasaray must remain strong as a community and build strong walls around itself.

"I GAVE 50 YEARS, IT IS NOT EASY"

Galatasaray should not be easily touchable by anyone. That is how championships and successes come. We must be one body for the rest of the season. As a Galatasaray fan, this is my wish and hope.

Is Galatasaray not missed? Working or not working is not important at all. I gave 50 years, it is not easy. Galatasaray is missed.

"I TOLD ARDA 'YOU CAN SURPASS ME'"

I am very happy when I see Arda Turan. We almost lived Arda's successful football story together. I knew him when he was a child and I witnessed his entire career. I am happy because he is someone I love and a colleague.

I always believed he would be a good coach. He is the most decorated footballer in the country's history; he worked with very important coaches and worked at big clubs. Right now, he is willing and eager to learn. He loves football and has extraordinary communication skills. I told him one day, 'You can surpass me. I believe in this.'"

"I WAS HAPPY TO SEE SELÇUK İNAN AND ARDA TURAN"

I watched the Gaziantep FK - Eyüpspor match. I was very happy to see Selçuk İnan and Arda Turan. Albert Riera also became a coach. I want everyone I worked with to surpass me as a coach; you all have this potential. I always tell them that being a player and being a coach are very different. They will leave a mark here too. They must be researchers and follow the day. I will continue to be proud of their successes and watch them.

"I AM READY TO CONTRIBUTE TO TURKISH FOOTBALL"

I am here. Whenever it may be, I am ready to contribute to Turkish football. We have 30-40 years left here (laughing). That is how much is left. I want to spend this in the most beneficial way. Football is my life. As long as I have the strength, as long as I have not retired, I would like to contribute to and help Turkish football.

I do not have any plans or programs. This job is my job; this is the job I know best in my life. Any place... I do not have such a situation. Football is a snapshot, and you do not know what will happen a second later. I live like that outside as well.

"WE HAVE SLOWLY STARTED TO DO WHAT WE THOUGHT OF"

I was following Saudi Arabia; it is a quality league. The tempo in some matches in the league is like that of leading teams in Europe. Due to the system, some differences arise, but in general, we are in a good league that is open to development. In general, I am not a coach who says 'Give me time.' We got on the right track with the Al-Raed and Damac victories. We have slowly started to do what we thought of."
