Fenerbahçe athlete loses life in Bolu fire: Club announces death

Fenerbahçe Sports Club has announced that Vedia Nil Apak, a 2014-born athlete from its swimming branch, and her mother Ferda Apak lost their lives in a fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya.

Regarding the fire that started in the morning hours at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the number of those who lost their lives has risen to 66.

Vedia Nil Apak, a 2014-born athlete from the Fenerbahçe Swimming Branch, and her mother Ferda Apak lost their lives in the fire that broke out at the hotel.

FENERBAHÇE EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES FOR ATHLETE

Fenerbahçe Sports Club published a message of condolence for the young athlete and her mother, wishing patience to the entire family, especially the father and club congress member Mehmet Apak.

In its statement, Fenerbahçe said the following:

"Our deepest condolences.

We wish our condolences to the families of all those we lost and to our country as a result of the fire that occurred at the hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

We have learned with deep sorrow that our Fenerbahçe Swimming Branch's 2014-born athlete Vedia Nil Apak and her mother Ferda Apak have passed away in the fire.

May God have mercy on our athlete, our child Vedia Nil Apak, and her mother Ferda Apak; we extend our condolences to the entire family, especially her father, our esteemed Congress Member Mehmet Apak, to their relatives, and to our community.
