Fenerbahçe Beko defeats Serbian side Partizan

The Lithuanian coach made statements at the press conference held after the match played at the Ülker Sports and Event Hall.

Congratulating his players and the fans for the victory, Jasikevicius said, "There was a good team spirit on the court. We defended very well in the first half. In the second half, we were better offensively. It was very important for us to go 2-0 in the double-game week. The players were aware that they needed to be together and united. Partizan Head Coach Zeljko Obradovic stated that Fenerbahçe Beko was very good at 3-point shooting and that they could not stop the yellow-navy team.

Stating that they could not reflect what they wanted on the court during the match, Obradovic said, "Fenerbahçe played a very good game. I congratulate them. Their 3-point percentages were very good. They made 19 three-pointers. We couldn't stop them. We played a match two days ago. This is not an excuse, but my team lacked energy in this match."

Regarding his meeting with former Fenerbahçe club president Aziz Yıldırım, with whom he worked for 5 years during his tenure at Fenerbahçe, before the match, the Serbian head coach commented, "I am very happy that I was able to spend time with him. In the 7th week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Fenerbahçe Beko defeated Serbian side Partizan 89-72 at home.

With this result, the yellow-navy team achieved its 5th victory in the competition. Partizan, on the other hand, suffered its 5th defeat. Fenerbahçe finished its second double-game week in the EuroLeague with a 2-0 record.

The first 5 minutes of the match, which started with baskets from both sides, ended in a 6-6 tie. Taking good advantage of Partizan's consecutive turnovers and finding 4 successful shots from the perimeter, Fenerbahçe Beko finished the first period ahead 22-15.

The yellow-navy team did not slow down in the second quarter, extending the lead to 14 points in the 18th minute: 41-27. Fenerbahçe finished the first half ahead 44-31, having made 10 shots from the perimeter, 6 of which were in the second period.

Continuing their effective play from behind the 3-point line in the third period, the yellow-navy team reached a 20-point lead in the 28th minute: 63-43. Fenerbahçe entered the final quarter leading 67-53.

Not allowing the lead to drop below 12 points in the fourth and final quarter, Fenerbahçe Beko left the match with an 89-72 victory, having recorded 19 three-pointers.

SHOW OF AFFECTION FOR AZIZ YILDIRIM

After the first quarter, the yellow-navy fans showed their affection for former Fenerbahçe Club President Aziz Yıldırım, who was following the match from courtside.

The fans chanted in favor of their former president after it was announced that Yıldırım would turn 72 tomorrow. Aziz Yıldırım responded to this gesture by the yellow-navy fans by waving.
