Fenerbahçe executive Hulusi Belgü reacts sharply to Trabzon Mayor

Fenerbahçe Board Member Hulusi Belgü made statements following the match in which Fenerbahçe defeated Trabzonspor 1-0, a game marked by controversial refereeing decisions.

Criticizing the TFF, Belgü reacted to the 'match-fixing' insinuation made by Trabzon Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç.

“It was a good evening. Fenerbahçe secured a nice victory. We congratulate the players and the technical staff. I truly believe that we clearly saw the impact of the technical staff on the game in a short period of time. Fenerbahçe played with the ball. This is a good ratio. They always pressed forward. We hope our team will show the same performance in the upcoming matches as well.”

“ALL REFEREES MUST BE A LITTLE MORE CAREFUL”

“As far as I could see, there was a very clear foul before Trabzonspor's goal. I suppose no one can deny that. We played in the opponent's half throughout. Our disallowed goal is open to debate. It appears to have crossed the line. However, the VAR referees could not see it. All referees must be a little more careful.”

All of this is a manipulation he carried out just to gain a political foothold and to gather votes in the city where he is located. We strongly condemn this. Our colleagues will take the necessary legal actions. As Fenerbahçe, we will pursue this audacious man to the end. We will clearly show him what is what."

“This is the first match, but frankly, I really liked the pressure applied in the front. It was like that when it was 11 against 11, and when we were left with 10 men, we said 'Oh no.'
