Fenerbahçe General Secretary Mahmut Uslu made statements after the match in which Fenerbahçe was defeated 2-1 away by Gençlerbirliği in the first week of the Süper Lig. Uslu expressed his reaction to both the failure to postpone the match and the referee's decisions.

Reminding that Fenerbahçe will play a critical match on Tuesday regarding participation in the Champions League, Uslu stated that their request for a postponement was not met. Uslu said, "We have a match on Tuesday, which is perhaps the first time in many years that Fenerbahçe is playing to qualify for the Champions League. A postponement was requested, and they did not do that either."

Criticizing the refereeing, Uslu stated that there were decisions that he argued should have been given in favor of the yellow-navy team. Saying, "Two of our penalties were not given," Uslu pointed out that the opposing player's arm was open during Talisca's shot, evaluating the position as a penalty and a red card.

"WE ESPECIALLY REQUEST THIS FROM THE TFF PRESIDENT"

Stating that there are also question marks regarding the VAR application, Uslu made a call to the Turkish Football Federation. Uslu used the expressions, "We don't even know if VAR is foreign or Turkish. We especially request from the TFF President that such things do not happen."

Emphasizing that Fenerbahçe wants to compete under equal conditions, Uslu made the statement, "It was not equal. All 50-50 challenges were called against us. This league cannot continue this way."
