Fenerbahçe has reacted harshly to the TFF over the one-match ban given for an "impudent" gesture made toward the Ankaragücü stands. The club argued that the penalty is a sign of an "admirable stance by those who should be impartial."

Fenerbahçe has reacted harshly to the TFF over the "impudent" gesture made toward the Ankaragücü stands and the subsequent one-match ban. In a statement released on the club's social media account, it was stated that the penalty is a sign of an "admirable stance displayed by those who should be impartial."

The statement included the following: "This lawless act, which ignores rules and could affect the championship race, is a level of blatant and clear favoritism toward one team that has never been seen before."

The statement, signed by Fenerbahçe Board Member Selahattin Baki, included the following remarks:

"The story of the one (1) match ban given for the IMPUDENT gesture made toward the opposing stands is hidden in the admiration in the photo…  

We said there is no other example of this stance displayed by those who should be impartial. 

This lawless act, which ignores rules and could affect the championship race,

is a level of blatant and clear favoritism toward one team that has never been seen before.

Today, we are at a loss for words! 

This disrespect was not only directed at the Ankaragücü stands, but also at Turkish sports and all sports fans.  

Mehmet Büyükekşi and those who manage Turkish football under the TFF umbrella; 

The public has once again seen that all your decisions, both on and off the pitch, are taken with the reflex to favor one team and make that team the champion.
