Fenerbahçe leaves the Netherlands with a draw: Points tally reaches 4

In the second week of the UEFA Europa League, Fenerbahçe faced Dutch side Twente away from home.

Twente took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute of the match played at De Grolsch Veste. Following an assist from Regeer, who headed the ball to the back post from the right side of the penalty area, Vlap headed the ball into the net from the left side of the six-yard box, despite Becao's efforts.

The first half of the match ended with the home side leading 1-0.

Fenerbahçe leveled the score in the 71st minute of the match. Dusan Tadic, who met a superb pass from Sofyan Amrabat behind the defense, found the net with a classy finish to make it 1-1.

Although Fenerbahçe pushed for a winning goal, they could not find it, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

With this result, Fenerbahçe brought their points tally to 4 and sits in 14th place on goal difference, while Twente, who increased their points to 2, is in 23rd place.

In the 3rd week of the Europa League, Fenerbahçe will host Manchester United, while Twente will face Lazio at home.

Fenerbahçe, which drew 1-1 away against Twente in its second match in the UEFA Europa League, increased its points to 4. After the match, Fenerbahçe head coach Jose Mourinho made statements at the press conference.

Stating that they controlled the game well in the second half, Jose Mourinho said, "Looking at the questions asked, sometimes I think I came to Turkey to learn my job."

Stating that they left a difficult match behind, the experienced coach said:

"If we could have scored one of the two clear chances we found when it was 0-0, it could have been different. We actually worked on these positions yesterday, which made me happy. After it was 1-0, we played against a team that was faster and different from us.

When you fall behind, you take risks in transitions against such teams. They have quality, they have the right dose of pragmatism. They are not a naive team that sells a beautiful philosophy.

Their coach is not a philosopher, he is a good head coach. They know how to counter-attack and defend. At halftime, I told my players that we shouldn't concede a second. In the second half, we were able to hold the ball better and turn it around. When it was 1-0, Seba had a chance he could have scored. It was a good match. If I had watched it with an outside eye, I would have said it was a good match."
