Göktürk stated that he recently met with former president Mehmet Ali Aydınlar and that during the meeting, Aydınlar proposed that they act together. Speaking on the matter, Göktürk said, "A few days ago, Mehmet Ali Aydınlar called me. He offered for me to be with him and to form a list together.

Regarding Metin Şen, who left his list, Barış Göktürk said, "He insisted that I unite with Mehmet Ali Aydınlar. He insisted that I become the vice president. This is not appropriate for me," he said.
