Fenerbahçe Club has requested that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) launch an investigation regarding two matches played by Ankara Büyükşehir Belediye Fomget in the Turkcell Women's Football Super League.
In a statement released by the yellow-navy club, it was pointed out that "unusual" scores have emerged in the final weeks of the league that directly affect the championship race.
The statement, which noted that the league consists of a 26-week period, expressed that as they entered the 22nd week, the Fenerbahçe Petrol Ofisi Women's Football Team and Ankara Büyükşehir Belediye Fomget were tied on points, but Fenerbahçe held a 22-goal advantage in goal difference. The yellow-navy club highlighted how this gap was closed and surpassed, stating, "However, as a result of the matches that took place in the last four weeks, while both teams are again tied on points (67), ABB Fomget has gained a 27-goal advantage, moving ahead of our team with a +5 goal difference."
INVESTIGATION REQUEST FOR TWO MATCHES
In Fenerbahçe's statement, it was noted that Ankara Büyükşehir Belediye Fomget secured a 19-0 victory against Çekmeköy Bilgidoğa in the 22nd week and subsequently defeated Bornova Hitabspor 12-1 today, arguing that these results are "contrary to the ordinary flow of life."
The yellow-navy side also emphasized that while ABB Fomget has broadcast all the matches it played throughout the season on its social media accounts, no such post was made for the Bornova Hitabspor match. In this regard, the statement included the following: "In light of everything that has happened, the situation must be evaluated by the relevant institutions in terms of the principles of justice and transparency in football. As the Fenerbahçe Petrol Ofisi Women's Football Team, an application has been made to the Turkish Football Federation regarding the relevant matches. In the application made by our club, it has been requested that the TFF's relevant boards immediately initiate an investigation, refer the matter to the Ethics Committee, conduct the process transparently, and apply the necessary disciplinary sanctions if deemed appropriate. We respectfully present to the public that we will be following these developments in order to protect the sweat shed by our team throughout the season."
