Fenerbahçe Sports Club has responded to the statement made by journalist Ertem Şener regarding head coach Jose Mourinho.

The following statement was shared on the yellow-navy club's official social media account:

"Ertem Şener, who has attempted to shift the justified criticism made by our head coach Jose Mourinho regarding football dynamics onto a different ground in an uncouth manner with the goal of gaining engagement on social media, has exceeded his limits and boundaries.

We inform him that no one can speak with this ugly tone, nor can they be insolent or disrespectful toward any value bearing the name Fenerbahçe or toward our head coach, who possesses a brand identity in world football."

In his statement, Ertem Şener had said, "Jose Mourinho, you cannot call my colleague a coward. Come and join my live broadcast. This is Turkey, pull yourself together. You are a man who has won trophies by poking your finger in people's eyes."
