Fenerbahçe's response to Dursun Özbek regarding 'February 6'

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek, who stated that they had dispatched 100 trucks to the region after the February 6 earthquakes, had targeted Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş by saying, "You boast about being Turkey's largest non-governmental organization. Well, where are you there?"

The following statement was made on the official website of the yellow-navy club regarding the matter:

"We followed with shame the words of Dursun Özbek today, in which he insolently targeted our Club as well: 'Hey Fenerbahçe fans, hey Beşiktaş fans. The people of the region are in a very bad situation. We came here today for a groundbreaking ceremony with TOKİ. You go and build 100 as well. Fenerbahçe fans, you build 150, surpass us here. Since you cannot surpass us on the green pitch, surpass us here.'

In a situation where we are trying to heal the wounds of the earthquake disaster, one of the greatest pains our country has ever experienced, where we have lost thousands of our lives, and where we aim to put aside colors, divisions, and fights to stand shoulder to shoulder to provide some support to our people in the region, we question the human values of a person who engages in football propaganda.

We would like to emphasize that we have many words to say and answers to give on this matter, but we refrain from occupying the agenda of our country, our society, and above all, our precious people affected by the earthquake with such an inconceivable approach. We leave the pathetic attitude displayed by this individual to the discretion of everyone with a conscience and the public."
