Feyyaz Uçar speaks out on Semih Kılıçsoy's removal from the A National Team squad

Beşiktaş Football Branch Manager Feyyaz Uçar has spoken out regarding the decision to remove Semih Kılıçsoy from the A National Team squad and send him to the U21 National Team. Uçar expressed his reaction to this decision made by the TFF.

Feyyaz Uçar's statements are as follows:

“At first, I didn't want to believe the news I received. Then, I couldn't find the words to express my astonishment. Does nothing ever change in our country's football? I say this with regret: coaches change, administrations change, but the mentality in the national teams does not. We have experienced these things in the past; we know them. Nothing has changed. It is a scandal, in one word. Once again, players from other teams are played by preference, while Beşiktaş players continue to be played only out of necessity.

SEMIH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TALENT PRODUCED BY THE COUNTRY'S FOOTBALL

Semih Kılıçsoy, one of the most important talents produced by our country's football in recent years, has been scoring goals since he was 10 years old; he scores for the national teams and has scored in all of our youth age groups. He is a player who is open to development, learns quickly, and is physically very strong. While the lack of playing time for young players in league matches for years, and the preference for foreign or older players, has been a major subject of criticism, and while the sports public and technical experts comment that young players are not given a chance, Semih Kılıçsoy has started to appear in our A-Team's starting 11 and has been scoring goals one after another. At the peak of his form, Semih Kılıçsoy was not included in any technical or tactical training sessions at the camp he joined with great morale following his A National Team call-up, and was kept separate from the team. If you were not going to include him in training sessions where he could improve himself and increase his knowledge and experience, why did you call him up to the national team?

Giving a player who is the shining star of the league and an inspiration to the youth even 5 minutes of playing time would have been the greatest reward not just for him, but for Turkish football. It is obvious that the announcement that he was included in the U21 National Team planning is just an ordinary excuse. We do not want to believe that this decision was made at the last minute and carries a hidden meaning. But we cannot find a single clue to dispel our doubts.

Where did you find the right to play with the emotions of a young player? If the National Team is the country's team, be fair and just. If you cannot be, then act with a conscience. We cannot accept an explanation that says there was a need for Semih in the U21 National Team.

How much contribution do you think a player who has lost his morale and motivation can provide to the U21 National Team?

It is a fact that what was done to our player, who left the delegation with his morale broken to join the U21 National Team, is mobbing. We condemn those who caused this decision to be made.

We will continue to raise young players for Turkish football and give them the opportunity to play.”
