Stating on his Instagram account that he sent the same letter to the football federations of Palestine and Israel, Infantino wrote: "In light of the horrific acts of violence that have taken place over the past few days, on behalf of FIFA and the entire international football community, we extend our deepest condolences to the Palestinian and Israeli Football Associations. We are witnessing shocking and heartbreaking events in a region where people have already suffered deeply for far too long. This only deepens the pain. The football world will continue to stand in firm solidarity with the people of Palestine and Israel and with all the innocent victims who are paying an unspeakable price."
Calling for an end to the suffering of the Palestinian and Israeli people, Gianni Infantino added:
"Of course, we know that football cannot solve the problems of the world, yet it can play a small role in bringing a ray of hope to a place where only darkness seems to prevail. Football can be a vehicle for bringing people together in an environment of mutual respect, for peace, and ultimately for reconciliation, even when it seems impossible to many. I would like to emphasize that FIFA will do everything in its power to help restore peace and hope to your people, both today and in the future."
