First statement from Tedesco after closing the Fenerbahçe chapter

Domenico Tedesco, whose tenure as head coach at Fenerbahçe has been terminated, spoke for the first time following his departure. Making comments through the German Press Agency (DPA), Tedesco expressed that the process came as a surprise to him.

The Italian coach stated that a contract renewal had been on the agenda during the season, emphasizing that parting ways after the second league defeat was an unexpected decision.

Pointing to the speed of change in football, Tedesco noted that when he took office, they aimed to build a long-term structure. The experienced coach, who conveyed that they had adopted a different approach for the team's future, assessed the outcome of the process negatively.

Tedesco's statements are as follows:

"We were just talking about extending the contract. Now, we have parted ways after our second defeat in the league.

This shows once again how quickly football has become a sport that changes.

When I started, our goal was to build a sustainable structure together. We wanted to handle things a little differently than what was customary in the past.

I find it very sad that things have reached this point."

Tedesco, who served in 45 official matches for the yellow-navy team, achieved an average of 2 points per match. His tenure was terminated following a 3-0 defeat in the away match against Galatasaray.
