Victor Osimhen, whom Galatasaray had in their squad on loan last season, contributed to the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup victories by recording 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches in the yellow-red jersey. Efforts are ongoing to bring Osimhen, who returned to Napoli at the end of the season, back to Galatasaray.
Speaking at the club's ordinary monthly council meeting in July, President Dursun Özbek made significant statements regarding the Osimhen transfer.
Özbek said, "Osimhen loved Galatasaray very much; he is a player who contributed a great deal. Our efforts to sign him are ongoing. I must say that we have planned his transfer in a very smart and successful way." He further added, "I believe that once the deal is done and the signatures are signed, you will agree with me when I explain how it was done."
