The football world has been shaken by tragic news following an accident that occurred ahead of the UEFA Europa League match between Olympique Lyonnais and PAOK. The minibus carrying fans of the Greek Super League team PAOK, who were on their way to the match in Lyon, France, was involved in a tragic traffic accident near Lugojelul, Romania.
It was reported that the incident occurred on Romania's DN6-E70 highway when the minibus driver attempted to overtake and collided head-on with an oncoming semi-truck. Seven of the 10 fans in the minibus lost their lives at the scene, while three others were injured and transported to nearby hospitals.
There has been no official statement yet regarding the ongoing treatment of the injured or whether their lives are in danger.
