Footballer who attacked referee arrested

In Eskişehir, a footballer who headbutted a referee during a 1st Amateur League match and his father, a club official involved in the incident, were arrested by the court on the same day they were referred to the courthouse.

A violent incident during the Birlikspor – Eskişehir Kolej match, played in the 1st Amateur League in Eskişehir, led to the match being suspended and two people being arrested. During the second half of the match at the University Houses Football Field, referee M.E. showed a red card to Birlikspor player H.Y.U. following a play.

ATTACK AFTER RED CARD

Angered by the red card decision, footballer H.Y.U. headbutted referee M.E. Due to the attack, the referee fell to the ground and suffered an injury to his nose. Following the incident, the pitch became chaotic.

The player's father, E.U., who is an official for the team the footballer plays for, also left his place on the bench and got into an altercation with the referee.
