Footballer who was shot has passed away

The armed clash that took place on the night of December 17 on Ömer Türkçakal Boulevard in the Sanayi neighborhood of Kocaeli has caused great sadness in the football world. 27-year-old footballer Uğurcan Bekçi was critically wounded in the armed attack and lost his 3-day battle for life.
ARMED CLASH ERUPTED BETWEEN TWO GROUPS
The incident turned into an armed fight following an argument between two groups during the night. During the clash, Uğurcan Bekçi, K.E.B. (27), and İ.A. (31) were critically wounded by bullets hitting their bodies. The wounded were transported to nearby hospitals following intervention by medical teams who arrived at the scene shortly after.
Uğurcan Bekçi, who had played for teams such as Kağıtspor, Körfez Spor Kulübü, Belediye Derincespor, 24 Erzincanspor, and Ankara Keçiörengücü during his football career, was intubated and placed under treatment after being taken to the hospital. Despite all interventions, the footballer's condition worsened, and he passed away 3 days later.
TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED
Following the investigation launched by the Kocaeli Police Department teams after the incident, 2 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. The suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
