For the first time in the Bundesliga, a female head coach leads the A-team
German Bundesliga side Union Berlin has announced the appointment of Marie-Louise Eta as head coach. Eta has become the first female head coach in Bundesliga history.

Following a 3-1 away defeat to league bottom-side Heidenheim in the 29th week of the Bundesliga, Union Berlin parted ways with head coach Steffen Baumgart. The Berlin club announced that former footballer and coach Marie-Louise Eta has been appointed to lead the team. This marks the first time in Bundesliga history that a woman has been appointed as a head coach at the A-team level.
It was stated that 34-year-old Marie-Louise Eta, who previously served as an assistant coach and youth team coach at Union Berlin, will lead the A-team until the end of the season.
Union Berlin, which has not won in its last 3 Bundesliga matches, currently sits in 11th place with 32 points.
