Former Trabzonspor Council Board President: 'Oosterwolde should be tried'

Trabzonspor Club former Council Board President Ali Sürmen made statements during a press conference.

Regarding Jayden Oosterwolde, who kicked the burgundy-blue team's fans, Sürmen said the following:

''We met with the friends who were referred for arrest. I told them their mistakes. We will see our mistakes; if we do not accept them, we cannot be in the right. There was no fairness in the referral for arrest. A player who should be tried in the High Criminal Court has been given a free pass, while those who were beaten have been arrested. As the Trabzonspor community, we can never accept this. If jumping onto the pitch is a crime, according to the Law on Prevention of Violence in Sports, the duty to ensure the security of the pitch lies with the police. What security measures were taken during the Fenerbahçe players' celebration? In that case, our director and law enforcement officers will have to answer for this to Trabzonspor. I am saying this as a legal professional. These actions will never be forgotten. The arrest of those kids who were beaten there today is a restriction of their freedom. Those who act out of love for their colors will one day be held accountable for this.''
