Application from Galatasaray to the TFF: List of controversial positions not reviewed by VAR

The Turkish Football Federation unexpectedly released the VAR records of the match played between Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor last night. The yellow-red club announced that they have applied to the TFF regarding matches and situations in the Trendyol Super League this season where a VAR intervention was required but the referee was not called to review the positions.

TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE TURKISH FOOTBALL FEDERATION

As you are aware, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) only shares with the public the VAR records of situations where the referee is called to review a position via VAR intervention.

However, with a new practice, the TFF has shared the raw VAR records regarding the position that occurred in the 11th minute of the Galatasaray A.Ş. – Adana Demirspor A.Ş. match played in the 23rd week of the Trendyol Super League.

In light of this situation, it is essential that the TFF Board of Directors, which has an obligation to act impartially as stated in the TFF Statutes, in addition to the principle of transparency, also share with the football public the raw VAR records regarding the 46 positions included in the annex of this petition, where a VAR intervention was required but the referee was not invited to review them during the 2024-2025 Trendyol Super League Şamil Ekinci Season, in line with the same principle.

Consequently, we request by proxy that the raw VAR records of the 46 positions specified in the attached list be disclosed to the public immediately. Otherwise, we would like to remind you that the TFF will violate the principle of its obligation to act impartially and will cast a shadow over the fair management of football.
