Galatasaray Club commemorated its founder, Ali Sami Yen, with a ceremony held at his graveside in Feriköy Cemetery.

Ali Sami Yen, the founder of Galatasaray Club and a pioneering figure in Turkish sports, was commemorated with a ceremony held at Feriköy Cemetery in Istanbul on the 75th anniversary of his passing.
The commemoration ceremony was attended by Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek, Council of Trustees President Aykutalp Derkan, and members of the yellow-red club's board of directors. Prayers were recited at Ali Sami Yen's graveside.
Following the ceremony, Özbek and his delegation also visited the grave of Süleyman Seba, the legendary president of Beşiktaş Club, who is buried in the same cemetery.
Speaking to members of the press, Dursun Özbek said, "We came here to commemorate our founder, Mr. Ali Sami Yen, with mercy on the 75th anniversary of his passing. I would like to thank all our elders who brought this beautiful club, which Mr. Ali Sami Yen entrusted to us, to where it is today."
Stating that Galatasaray is working to carry the legacy left to them even further, Özbek added, "Our duty from now on is to take this beautiful legacy we have received and elevate it even higher, and to bring Galatasaray to the position it deserves. We are doing our best for this."
