Galatasaray Club General Secretary Eray Yazgan made notable statements regarding the penalties imposed on Galatasaray by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK). Emphasizing that the penalties given to clubs are not fair, Yazgan stated that he would make an assessment based solely on the figures.
Stating that the penalties given to Galatasaray by the PFDK last season were harsher when compared to those given to Fenerbahçe, Yazgan used the following words:
"Regarding the events that took place yesterday; I want to give a few numbers completely without commentary regarding the PFDK correspondence. The penalties given to our club by the PFDK last season... At the PFDK stage, not after the Arbitration Board. Last year, the PFDK imposed a stadium closure penalty on 175 blocks in our stadium, while our rival Fenerbahçe was given a penalty of only 138 blocks.
Regarding the deprivation of rights for managers and technical staff; Fenerbahçe was given 140 days, while we were given 179 days. Regarding the deprivation of rights for clubs, they gave Fenerbahçe 135 days, while they gave us 178 days. These are without commentary. Of course, we will have comments on this in the process."
Yazgan stated that these figures clearly reveal the differences in penalty applications between the clubs and expressed that they would make more comments on this issue in the coming period.
