Galatasaray expects significant revenue from match against Liverpool

Galatasaray will face Liverpool this evening at RAMS Park in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16. The tough match will begin at 20:45 and will be officiated by Spanish referee Jesus Gil Manzano. The match will be available to football fans via TRT 1 and the Tabii platform.
The club's fans sold out all available tickets in a short time. The yellow-reds expect to generate approximately 3 million euros from this important match, combined with ticket office revenue and merchandise sales from the GS Store.
Having qualified directly for the group stages in the Champions League, Galatasaray put 18.62 million euros into its coffers at the beginning of the season. The Istanbul team, which added another 7 million euros to its tally with 3 wins and 1 draw in the group stage, also received 5.08 million euros as a reward for finishing the league in 20th place. While the revenue obtained from the broadcasting pool reached 8.4 million euros, 2.4 million euros were earned from the UEFA coefficient bonus. Additionally, advancing to the play-off stage earned the club another 1 million euros.
The yellow-reds, who eliminated Juventus in the round of 16, earned the right to receive 11 million euros in return for this success. If Okan Buruk’s students pass Liverpool and advance to the quarter-finals, an additional 12.5 million euros will enter the coffers.
