Galatasaray Football Director Cenk Ergün made statements regarding current agenda items.
Stating that they want to reach the championship in the Süper Lig again in the new season, Cenk Ergün said, "We have a team that has been the champion for the last 2 years. We renewed our contract with Okan Buruk for 2 years. We have not lost any players from our starting 11. We are starting the league with great hope. We want to win our 25th championship and earn our 5th star in 2025. We have our Champions League play-off match next week. We want to advance, but I think we are being held back by unrealistic perceptions and smear campaigns."
Cenk Ergün continued his words as follows:
"I am trying to fulfill my duty here. I started working at the club in 2006. Transfer is an organization whose methods are known. A pool is created, examined by our technical team, and presented to the management. These transfers are attempted to be made in line with our limits and budgets. It has always been like this. Two years ago, before the Austria camp, there were similar rumors. I stated at that time that I was not involved in the transfer process. Can I, by myself, force a transfer in a massive club like Galatasaray? It is not just me; we have a committee. I think this has only one purpose. We want to reach the 25th championship and go as far as we can in the new Champions League format."
"THERE WAS A REQUEST TO LEAVE"
Regarding the transfer status of Wilfried Zaha, whose name has been linked with Premier League teams, Cenk Ergün stated, "When we provide information about an ongoing process, it can have an impact. Zaha had a request to leave. This process is ongoing. If the negotiations continue as desired, the necessary statements will be made."
"THERE IS NO DEVELOPMENT REGARDING KÖHN"
Stating that an offer was received for Derrick Köhn, whom the yellow-red team added to their squad during the mid-season transfer window last year, Cenk Ergün said, "There was also a transfer request regarding Köhn. It reached us officially. The player's request was not to evaluate this offer. There is no development regarding Köhn."
"THERE IS ALSO INTEREST IN KEREM"
Cenk Ergün said the following regarding Kerem Aktürkoğlu;
"Kerem Aktürkoğlu is a very important player not only for Galatasaray but also for our national team. He informed us that he is more open to continuing his career abroad. We told him that if there are requests that Kerem deems appropriate and that satisfy the club, we could evaluate them. There is also interest in Kerem. We are not at the stage where a transfer could be realized."
