Galatasaray maintains its unbeaten home record

Gençlerbirliği found the opening goal in the 22nd minute of the match played at Rams Park. M'Baye Niang followed a free kick taken from the left wing by Göktan Gürpüz and sent the ball into the net: 0-1.

The first half of the match ended with Gençlerbirliği leading 1-0.

Starting the second half with a substitution of İlkay Gündoğan for Yusuf Demir, Galatasaray equalized in the 55th minute. Mauro Icardi scored from a low cross by Kazımcan Karataş from the left wing to make it 1-1.

Two minutes after this goal, the yellow-reds took the lead. Barış Alper Yılmaz followed up on a ball that rebounded off the goalkeeper from an Icardi shot and sent it into the net to put his team ahead: 2-1.

In the 60th minute, Gençlerbirliği was reduced to 10 men. Thalisson received a second yellow card, followed by a red, after a challenge on Kazımcan Karataş, leaving his team with 10 players.

İlkay Gündoğan, who came on in the second half, took the stage in the 66th minute to make the score 3-1.

Gençlerbirliği, who made it 3-2 with a goal from Metehan Mimaroğlu in the 77th minute, regained hope for points.

In the 90+4th minute, Roland Sallai was shown a red card following a VAR review due to a harsh challenge on his opponent.

Managing to protect their 3-2 lead for the remainder of the match, Galatasaray left the pitch with a 3-2 victory and added 3 points to their tally.

VICTORY AFTER 2 MATCHES IN THE LEAGUE

Galatasaray, winning after a 2-match hiatus in the league, brought their points total to 32 and increased the point gap with their closest rival, Fenerbahçe, to 4 points with a game in hand. Gençlerbirliği remained in 14th place with 11 points.

Next week in the league, Galatasaray will face their arch-rival Fenerbahçe away in a derby. Gençlerbirliği will be the guest of Kocaelispor.
