Galatasaray Club has made a notable statement regarding the leak of the referee meeting.
The yellow-reds, who criticized journalist Fatih Portakal for broadcasting only the Galatasaray portion, stated that official action has been initiated with the following words:
"Regarding Sözcü TV and Fatih Portakal, who by doing this have disregarded the principles of press ethics and honest journalism and continue to facilitate a perception operation intentionally organized against Galatasaray; necessary actions have been initiated before RTÜK and relevant institutions."
HERE IS THE STATEMENT MADE BY GALATASARAY:
"As the public is aware, on March 25, 2024, at 21:03, certain parts of a closed-circuit referee meeting were edited and distorted, and then leaked on social media by a suspicious account.
With the Turkish Football Federation publishing the entire video of the aforementioned referee meeting transparently around 15:30 on March 26, 2024, it has become known to the entire public that the version leaked by other hands was orchestrated solely for the purpose of harming Galatasaray.
Despite the facts emerging hours earlier, Fatih Portakal of Sözcü TV, in the Main News Bulletin that began at 19:00 on the evening of March 26, 2024, not only ignored the footage of the referee meeting published by the TFF but also included the version that had been edited and intentionally leaked.
Regarding Sözcü TV and Fatih Portakal, who by doing this have disregarded the principles of press ethics and honest journalism and continue to facilitate a perception operation intentionally organized against Galatasaray; necessary actions have been initiated before RTÜK and relevant institutions.
We invite all Galatasaray fans to show their reaction against this biased and intentional behavior."
