Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek makes statements: 'We are marching toward the championship'

The March Ordinary Meeting of the Galatasaray Divan Board is being held at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex RAMS Park Özhan Canaydın Conference Hall.

Providing information about the efforts to exit the agreement made with the Banks Association, Özbek said the following:

"We needed to complete the transition to our Kemerburgaz Facilities to evaluate our land in Florya. The work is continuing rapidly. Our football team will start the next season at the Kemerburgaz Facilities. We are also initiating the process regarding the evaluation of our Florya land. The evaluation of our Florya land is of vital importance for our club. It is an event that will affect the next 20 years of our club. I do not want to mention any figures at this stage, but I want to express that I see our club's future will be very bright with this project."

"The income that will come from Florya is the future of Galatasaray. It should not be squandered for daily successes in any way and should be managed with common sense. This is the common view of myself and my fellow board members. With the income from our Florya project, we foresee first exiting the Banks Association agreement and then blocking the remaining money in an account without touching a single Lira of it. Neither we nor the boards of directors that will come after us will have the right to touch the principal. They will have to take a general assembly decision for this. I will take a board decision containing clear statements regarding this and will explain it in much more detail at the Budget General Assembly on April 27. By using this, we will carry our club to a very different place both in terms of sports and club management," he said.

Speaking about the football team, President Özbek said,

"Our football team is marching toward the championship. We have believed since the first day. We know that we deserve this championship and we are continuing our journey to victory. We will play the Super Cup in Şanlıurfa on April 7. The people of the region are waiting for us with great excitement. We are experiencing similar excitement. We hope that on April 7 in Şanlıurfa, we will provide all sports fans with an enjoyable final," he stated.

Calling for common sense regarding the events that have occurred recently, Dursun Özbek said,

"The championship is very important and valuable. We are watching and seeing the seeds of hatred sown to make brother an enemy to brother, seeing everything as permissible in order to be champion. I invite the entire football community and all fans, regardless of their colors, to moderation. Please let us stay calm. Let us not allow those who try to set us against each other," he said.
