Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek referred to PFDK

In a statement made by the TFF, it was announced that both the Galatasaray Club and President Dursun Aydın Özbek have been sent to the disciplinary committee.

"DAMAGING THE REPUTATION OF FOOTBALL" 

According to the TFF statement, due to expressions used on Galatasaray's official X account and website on February 21-22, 2026, the club and President Özbek were referred to the Professional Football Discipline Committee on the grounds of "damaging the reputation of football" under Article 38 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions.

In his statement, Özbek had used the following expressions:

"CLEARLY A REFEREE PREPARED FOR SPECIAL MATCHES!"

"As Galatasaray, we have always been the defenders of justice, rights, and labor. I say with regret that last night on the pitch, we encountered a referee performance where the sense of justice was shattered. A goal of ours that was not awarded was given in another match today! The VAR referee assigned to our match had not been assigned to a match in the Super Lig for four months. Why was he not assigned? It is clear that he is a referee prepared for special matches! I cannot think of it any other way. We are facing a Central Referee Committee (MHK) that falls apart wherever you touch it! The MHK, which is responsible for this disgrace, continues to sit in its seat! Like others, we do not want privileges or exceptions; we only want justice. We want the rules to be applied the same to everyone. As in the last 3 years, we will not let anyone steal Galatasaray's rights!"

"THERE ARE NO DIRTY TRICKS IN GALATASARAY'S 500-YEAR CULTURE"

"Neither in my upbringing nor in Galatasaray's 500-year culture are there dirty tricks. At the core of Galatasaray is staying on the pitch and disrupting these dirty tricks. For the last 3 years, we have become champions by eliminating these and similar games! We will be again this year!"
