Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek visits Anıtkabir: 'Our club will continue to be worthy of its Ancestor'

Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek visited Anıtkabir with his board members following his re-election.

Dursun Özbek, who was elected president at the yellow-red club's congress held last week, and his board of directors arrived at Atatürk’s mausoleum with a wreath decorated with red and white carnations.

After Özbek laid the wreath at the mausoleum, a moment of silence was observed.

Then, moving to the Misak-ı Milli Tower, Özbek signed the Anıtkabir Special Book. Özbek wrote the following in the book:

"Great Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey. Today, as the 40th President of Galatasaray Sports Club, I feel great pride, excitement, and happiness to be in your spiritual presence. As members and supporters of Galatasaray Club, we continue to advance in the light of your revolutions and ideas, and in the direction of the goals you have set.

In the second century of the Republic of Turkey, Galatasaray Sports Club, just as it did in its first century, will continue to be the pride of our country and remain worthy of its Ancestor."

'A VERY IMPORTANT PERSON'

Upon leaving Anıtkabir, Özbek also responded to journalists' questions regarding Jose Mourinho's arrival at Fenerbahçe:

"Jose Mourinho is a very important person. It seems that the impact Galatasaray created last season has worried other teams quite a bit. That is why they are working harder this year with high costs, that is how it appears. It makes no difference. Galatasaray is Galatasaray. It is always the winning team.

Especially when it comes to May, everyone now knows who May belongs to. It will be the same from now on. We are preparing for the 5th star. We will have attached the 5th star at the end of the coming season."
