In the research on the fastest center-backs conducted by CIES based on 28 leagues worldwide, Davinson Sanchez managed to break into the top three.

Davinson became the 3rd center-back with the most acceleration—meaning he changes his speed during the game—following these two names. The 27-year-old center-back ranks first in Turkey. Opoku from Başakşehir is 11th, and Baniya from Trabzonspor is 18th among the names that gained the most acceleration.
