Galatasaray wins its second league match

Galatasaray made it two wins out of two in the league by defeating Konyaspor 2-1 away from home in the second week of the season.

In the opening match of the 2nd week of the Süper Lig, Galatasaray faced Konyaspor away from home.

The visiting team, Galatasaray, found the opening goal in the match played at Medaş Konya Metropolitan Stadium. In the 41st minute, Kerem Aktürkoğlu connected with a pass from Mauro Icardi and sent the ball into the net to make the score 1-0.

Konyaspor's response to this goal was not long in coming. Oğulcan Ülgün struck a cross from Yusuf Erdoğan on the left wing on the volley in the 45th minute to equalize the score.

The first half of the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Yellow-Reds took the lead once again in the 59th minute. Barış Alper Yılmaz scored from a Kerem Aktürkoğlu assist to put the Yellow-Reds ahead 2-1.

Galatasaray's goal by Mauro Icardi in the 76th minute was disallowed after a VAR review, on the grounds that Torreira had committed a foul on Aleksic.

There were no further goals in the remainder of the match, and Galatasaray left the pitch as the 2-1 winners.

With this result, Galatasaray has made it two wins out of two in the league, bringing their points total to 6 and moving to the top of the table with a game in hand, while Konyaspor remains in 5th place with 3 points.

Galatasaray's match against Gaziantep FK, which was scheduled for the 3rd week of the Süper Lig, has been postponed to a later date due to their European cup match against Young Boys. Konyaspor will face Bodrum FK away from home in their next league match.
