Galatasaray's Champions League journey comes to an end: Muslera shown red card

In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round, Galatasaray faced Swiss side Young Boys at home, following a 3-2 defeat in the first leg.

In the 31st minute of the match played at Rams Park, a goal scored by Young Boys' Ebrima Colley was disallowed due to offside.

Although both Galatasaray and Young Boys created chances in the first half, neither side could find the net, and the teams went into the locker rooms tied at 0-0.

In the 56th minute of the match, Kaan Ayhan put the ball into the net following a cross from Kerem Aktürkoğlu, but the referee signaled that the play was offside.

The game was stopped for a while in the 85th minute due to tension on the pitch.

Tension flared between Young Boys players and Kaan Ayhan near the benches. Following this, Kaan Ayhan and Darian Males were shown yellow cards, and the game resumed.

In the 87th minute, Young Boys found a goal during a fast-developing attack. Alan Virginius put the ball into the net in a one-on-one situation with Fernando Muslera, bringing the score to 1-0.

MUSLERA SHOWN RED CARD

Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was shown a red card in the 88th minute of the UEFA Champions League play-off second leg match between Galatasaray and Young Boys.

In the 87th minute of the match, the visiting team took the lead with a goal from Alan Virginius. Norwegian referee Espen Eskas reached for his red card on the grounds that Galatasaray's Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera had tripped Virginius as he ran to celebrate his goal.

Muslera was sent off with a red card in the 88th minute.

In Galatasaray, which continued the match with 10 men, Günay Güvenç replaced Kerem Aktürkoğlu and took his place in goal.

Although Galatasaray pushed forward, there were no more goals in the remainder of the match, and Young Boys left the pitch as the 1-0 winners.

Having won the first leg 3-2, Young Boys secured their place in the Champions League league phase with this 1-0 victory in the second leg.
