Galatasaray's 'Super Cup' call to Erdoğan: 'They must correct this mistake'

Galatasaray has voiced its opposition to the Super Cup match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe being played in Saudi Arabia. The yellow-reds' second president, Metin Öztürk, stated that they want the match to be played in Turkey.

"THEY MUST CORRECT THIS MISTAKE"

In his statement, Metin Öztürk said, "I don't know if we play in Ankara or Samsun. We could even play in Kadıköy. Let's play at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium. Why should we deal with the people of another country? Let the fans sit half and half. Let the President come and present the cup. We are tired of talking to the TFF! They must correct this mistake. We will play wherever they want next year. Our President should step in on this issue."

"WHAT BOTHERS ME IS PLAYING IN ANOTHER COUNTRY ON THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC"

"We will host Fenerbahçe at our home first. Then we will play the Super Cup match. We would play Fenerbahçe the next day too. It's no problem at all. What bothers our fans and me is playing in another country on the 100th anniversary of the Republic. We didn't declare ourselves a Republic like others. We set out with the motto 'The 100th year of the Republic is Galatasaray'. We are saying this only for this year. If the TFF says London, if they say Madrid, we will go and play. As a fan, I do not want the Super Cup to be played in another country. This is the opinion of Galatasaray fans. I am sure this is also the view of Fenerbahçe fans.

We will go to the Bayern Munich match for 3 points. If there is a claim, Galatasaray plays to win. We were unlucky in the Bayern Munich match. Luck was not on our side. Even if it were 190 minutes instead of 90, I would have said 'Galatasaray wins' that day. Bayern Munich had no superiority in the match. Galatasaray is heading for the championship.
