During the second half of the match, a physical struggle occurred in the penalty area between Dzeko and Adana Demirspor defender Tolga during a corner kick taken by Fenerbahçe.
Dzeko, who fell to the ground after slight contact in the first instance, appealed for a penalty.
While the Fenerbahçe side expected a penalty on the play, referee Meler allowed play to continue. No penalty decision was issued by the foreign VAR referee, Danish official Sandi Putros.
VAR DID NOT INTERVENE
After referee Halil Umut Meler allowed play to continue, all eyes turned to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room.
The fact that VAR referee, Danish official Sandi Putros, did not call for any review was met with a reaction from the Fenerbahçe players and technical staff.
