Fenerbahçe issues statement on brawl: A fan stabbed in the heart

A statement has been released by Fenerbahçe following a brawl that broke out at a rest stop between Amedspor fans and Fenerbahçe fans who were traveling to Istanbul for the Kasımpaşa match.

The yellow-navy club announced that there were 3 injured fans, noting that one fan was wounded just below the heart.

Fenerbahçe Corporate Communications Director Mustafa Sapmaz made the following statement regarding the incident:

"Regarding the health status of our fans who set off from Ankara for the Kasımpaşa match and were stabbed at a rest stop in Bolu: there are 3 injured, two of whom have minor injuries. One of our fans is being kept under observation at the hospital as they were stabbed just below the heart. Our other fans have continued their journey for the match."

WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN FENERBAHÇE AND AMEDSPOR FANS?

A brawl broke out at a rest stop between Amedspor fans, who had come to the city to watch their match against Boluspor, and Fenerbahçe fans, who were traveling to Istanbul for the Kasımpaşa match. The tense moments were captured on camera.

The incident occurred around noon at a rest stop on the Bolu Mountain pass of the Anatolian Highway. Amedspor fans, who had arrived in the city for their match against First League team Boluspor, encountered Fenerbahçe fans traveling to Istanbul for the Kasımpaşa match at the rest stop where they had stopped for a break. The tension between the two groups of fans turned into a brawl. The parties attacked each other with knives and stones.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Upon notification, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The gendarmerie teams fired warning shots into the air to separate the groups. Two Fenerbahçe fans injured in the brawl were taken to the hospital by medical personnel and placed under treatment.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
