Fenerbahçe's first statement following the 4-match ban given to Mourinho!

The repercussions of the Galatasaray – Fenerbahçe derby, which was played in the 25th week of the Süper Lig and ended in a goalless draw, continue.

After the derby, Fenerbahçe Head Coach Jose Mourinho went to the room of the match's foreign referee, Slavko Vincic, to thank him. In the press conference, Mourinho stated, "I went to the referee's room after the match. I said to the head referee, 'Thank you for officiating this big match well.' I said to the 4th official, 'If it were you, this match would have been a disaster.'"

The Portuguese coach's remarks regarding Galatasaray Head Coach Okan Buruk, saying "Everyone on the other bench was jumping around like monkeys," also caused controversy.

Following these statements, Fenerbahçe Head Coach Jose Mourinho was given a 4-match ban.

Fenerbahçe Sports Club Board Member in Charge of Legal Affairs Alper Alpoğlu made statements regarding the 4-match ban given to the Yellow-Navy team's head coach Jose Mourinho by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK).

The statements made by Alper Alpoğlu, who joined the Spor Manşet program broadcast on TRT Spor via phone, are as follows:

"Our coach was referred to the PFDK under two separate articles, and a total of 4 matches, 2+2, were given as a penalty. We find this unlawful and we will make our appeals. Our rival is distorting the meaning of a word our coach used and is occupying the entire society with something meaningless in a way that has no legal basis. These decisions taken are not unanimous decisions."

"We do not think the word our coach used constitutes an insult or unsportsmanlike conduct. We are facing this kind of penalty as a result of the perception management efforts carried out by our rival. We will, of course, go to the Arbitration Board. We know that the decision was taken by a majority vote. Not every member of the PFDK is of the same opinion; there are those who cast dissenting votes."

"We find the PFDK's decision unlawful. A referral is made for insult, and a penalty is given for unsportsmanlike conduct. They are also doing this by a majority vote. The PFDK certainly has the authority for this. We will urgently file our application to the Arbitration Board regarding this, and we believe that the most correct decision will be made at the Arbitration Board."
